I promised pictures of the all day crop that I held last month. Even though we didn't have a huge turnout we had a lot of fun scrapping, talking, laughing and of course eating!!! Everyone received a name tag like the one you see above...pretty fitting for an all day crop don't you think? :)

The group project that I designed was a 6" x 6" Accordian Album with Miracle paper. These make really cute gifts.

I designed an optional recipe box class for the afternoon. The boxes were decorated with Cherry-O papers and everyone decorated pre-printed recipe cards and dividers to go inside...cute, cute!!!

Of course I had lots of giveaways and the "Grand Prize" was a Sizzix Big Shot.

Miracle Thank You Card

I wanted to share a card that I made last night using the Miracle Level 2 paper. I just love this paper and the Sweet Leaf Ribbon is so pretty. I was looking at some of my card magazines last night and came across one that used strips of paper with different border punches on the strips. I tucked each stirp underneath the one above to create the layered look. I used one of the butterflies from the Irresistable Miracle Chipboard Die-Cuts...these are really cool! All you do is sponge the ink on and the design resists the ink...pretty isn't it?

CTMH Leadershare 2011

I posted a few weeks back that I would be going to Leadershare in Navarre, FL on April 2nd. All I can say is that it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! There were about 75 consultants from all over that participated. Plus, we had some great classes taught by Corporate Employees and Consultants. There was lot's of Beautiful Artwork and Inspiration!! Our fearless leader Tina Sutton hosted this Leadershare. She is such an inspiration and a very sweet down to earth person! Hugs going out to Tina right now! :) If you ever get a chance, jump over to her blog and take a look at all that she has accomplished and of course her beautiful artwork!

Before I left for Leadershare I posted a quick picture of the book that I made as a donation to Operation Smile. I was amazed at all the other artwork that the other ladies made. There are some very talented consultants out there! Barb Carrico had the winning bid for my "Sophia Friendship Book". I did promise more pictures when I returned....

"Uniquely You" - Magnifique Layout

I have been in a state of "No" creativity for several weeks now. It's pretty sad when I go into my craft room and sit for what seems like hours unable to come up with anything, nada, zip! Yep, that was me and I didn't like it at all!! Well, I think I finally overcame this and hope to never have a case of "non-creativity" again. LOL

I absolutely love the Magnifique Papers! I used one of the layouts from the Magic book called Magicians Choice. Oh, and this is the first time that I have ever printed a picture in black and white and I am very pleased with how these turned out. I sprayed the pages with my own shimmer mist recipe (Lagoon Re-Inker, Water and pearl paint)...I'm not sure if you can see the shimmer in the picture, but it is really very pretty in person!

I just noticed that it has been a while since I last posted anything. I am really sorry about that! I have been creating, but haven't gotten anything posted. I did want to share the layout that my Club Ladies will be working on this month. The Oliva Level 2 Kit is so pretty! I love the fall colors and with Thanksgiving in a few weeks I thought this would be the perfect paper to use this month.

I wanted to share a card that I made for a Christmas Card Swap with other Close to my Heart Consultants. I always get nervous whenever I participate in swaps, because there are lots of very talented consultants out there!! YIKES!!! I used the Creative Basics Paper kit that also includes ribbon.

I made 10 identical cards to swap and I will get 10 cards back!

Thriller Card

I wanted to share this Thriller Card that I made with this month's Stamp of the Month, Hooligans Level 2 Paper Pack, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Brads, Clear Embossing Powder, Versamark and some Pearl Paint.

Now let me explain how I got my cardstock to look like metal...very easy!! First I took the black piece of cardstock and stamped my image with Versamark. I sprinkled embossing powder over the top of the stamped image, shook off the excess and heat embossed. Then I took some pearl paint and applied a thin layer over the entire piece of cardstock. Once that dried, which wasn't very long at all, I took a baby wipe and wiped over the embossed image to remove the pearl paint. The embossing resists the paint, therefore allowing your image to come through. Isn't this a really cool effect??? I thought so!! **SMILE**

I am really loving the new Close to my Heart Idea Book Magic that will come out this fall!! The possibilities are endless in making interactive pages and/or adding extra pictures to your pages as I did in this layout. I used the Showtime layout and Passages Level 2 papers with Cocoa Ribbon. All I can say is I Love It!!! I took a page that would normally have 6-7 pictures and added a Frame-Up which allows me to add extra pictures, giving me a total of 15 pictures!!! WOWZA!!! **SMILE** I can't wait for you to get a copy of this book and to see what you create!

Swaps and Gifts for my Roomies

As you all know I was fortunate enough to go to Convention in Washington DC a few weeks ago. Prior to going I signed up for a Team Page Swap. This was optional and the rules were to use our You Rock paper, Create 2 9x9 pages using either Imagine or Cherish How to Books and use all Close to my Heart Products. I had a lot of fun creating my pages. We were all assigned a title for our swaps and had to create swaps for everyone in our group. I had 12 to create. Once I got my main pages created it was pretty easy to replicate each set from there. I also, at the last minute, decided to create some cards to swap with other consultants. I created two different cards. Finally, I created cute little pizza boxes with "chocolate" for my roomies. =) They were very happy to get the chocolate! Here are a few pictures of everything that I made...I was a very busy lady prior to Convention!!LOL Thanks for looking!!

This was my very first time at the Close to my Heart Convention and I must say it was SO AWESOME!!! This year's convention was in Washington DC. I arrived Wednesday afternoon and left Sunday morning. From the moment I got there until I left we were constantly on the move from early morning until midnight sometimes 1 am. So of course I was exhausted, but it was so worth it!!!

I do have a funny story to tell you. When I arrived in Atlanta for my connecting flight to DC I only had 10 minutes to grab something to eat and get on the plane. So that meant grab from a Kiosk or the nearby deli and eat on the plane. Well, I couldn't decide between a sandwich or yogurt parfait thingy. I went with the parfait and a bag of chips. I don't know what I was thinking because instead of grabbing a spoon to eat with I grabbed a packet of mustard and mayo. Yes, I know you are thinking what were you thinking?? I was so tired from getting up at 6am and not getting to bed until after midnight the night before that my brain decided it didn't want to function anymore and was very confused. LOL I was bound and determined to eat this because I was starvin' marvin at that point. BUT the flight attendants didn't have plastic utensils. OY!! I started eating my chips and almost decided to start drinking my parfait when the nice male flight attendant leaned over and said "Don't laugh at me". Hummm I said about what?? He then pulled out a set of chopsticks and handed them to me and said that is all he could find. I grabbed them and said well, as long as you don't laugh at me while I'm eating this and that I did!! LOL

So back to Convention. Wow, so much to tell!!! Every morning started with General Session where they had lots of new details to tell us and lots of prizes to give away. There were video clips such as CTMH Apprentice, CTMH Scrapping Houses and even a dance performance by the CTMH Employees and Execs called CTMH Scrappin Ladies. These were so much fun to watch. Extravaganza consisted of 8 incredible artwork classes covering techniques, new product demos, and lots of ideas!! Everyone received Lots of New Products for "Free"!!! I LOVE CTMH!!! We received the new ink colors that will be out in the next idea book, new embellishments and 7 new stamp sets (2 were exclusive Convention sets). We made several cards with new products and two layouts using the New Flip Flaps!!! I can't wait to show everyone what you can do with these babies...so AWESOME!!!

Not only did everyone get FREE product, but all day everyday they were giving away FREE product!! Now how Awesome is that?! Next year Convention will be in Anaheim, CA right there by Disneyland!! I am so excited!!! Also, they announced our next incentive cruise will be to Hawaii!!! WooHoo!!! My goal for this next year is to be on that boat to Hawaii and would love for you to join me at the next CTMH Convention and on the next Cruise! If you are interested in joining my team please let me know because I would love to talk to you more about it!! The possibilities are endless with CTMH!!!

I wanted to share a few Fathers Day cards that my Daughter and I worked on last night. The card with the tie was inspired by another consultant. I’m sorry I can’t remember which Consultant since we looked at several to get ideas. Of course she made some changes to her card to make it her own. Items used: Twilight, Olive, Chocolate and White Daisy Cardstock, Designer Ribbon Rounds Cocoa Collection ~ New (Z1316), Liquid Glass (Z679), Antique Copper Brads (Z1217), Antique Copper Hinge (Z291) and Wonderful Friend (D1422) Stamp Set, which is the Stamp of the Month for June and guess what…You can still get this set “FREE” with a $100 order or even at a discount!!!

Craft Room Makeover!!

I'm sure that you all saw my post about painting my craft room. Well, I worked 12 hours today to get it finished!! I don't know that I will be able to walk tomorrow because my back is Screamin' at me, but it was so worth it!!! I am so, so happy with my area now!!! I love the paint color that I went with and the curtain topper that I bought matches perfectly. I have so much more room now. I Love, Love, Love my new room!!!!!! = )

Painting my Craft Room

Last weekend I went to Lowe's with my friend Angel to find a Paint Color for my Craft Room. If anyone has been to my house, you all know that the entire house is one color: Laura Ashley Taupe. So this is a BIG step for me...especially since I want to paint a yellow. I wanted something that would be happy/cheery because I spend a lot of time in this room crafting! =)

Well, we picked out three different shades of yellow: Mustard Yellow, Cantaloupe Smiles and Croissant. I got the little sample pints for $2 a piece that way I wasn't spending money on an entire gallon of each. We brought them back to my house and of course I asked Angel to paint three spots on the wall for me, because I just couldn't do it. LOL!!! As they dried we both liked the Cantaloupe Smiles and the Mustard Yellow, but as several hours passed the croissant was looking pretty good. Talk about a tough decision!!! I even took pictures and emailed them to my sisters and mom back in Arkansas.

Long story short I decided that I would go with the Croissant. So here is a picture of my room before the paint and one with the three color samples. It is a little messy...you can see my little samples on the desk to the right and my bag from Lowe's on the other desk. I plan on reorganizing and rearranging when the walls are complete.

This picture doesn't really show the colors very well, but they are Left to Right: Croissant, Mustard Yellow and Cantaloupe Smiles. I will post more as we make progress!!

Flower Pot April Stamp of the Month Card

I have been cranking out the cards lately and wanted to share another one with you. I used the April Stamp of the Month: Flower Pot D1409. I have to admit that when I saw this set I wasn't excited about it, BUT when I got it and started using it, I Love it!!! The flowers are so dainty and you can do so much with them. I also used Emporium Level 2 Paper Pack X7105B, Crystal Blue Cardstock, Cocoa Cardstock, Antiqued Copper Brads, Markers, Blending Pen 3174, Liquid Glass Z679, Cocoa Grosgrain Ribbon Z1100, and Spellbinders Scalloped Circle.

Piece of Cake Birthday…

I wanted to share a Birthday card that I made for one of my friends. I was inspired by Helen Onulak’s easel card that she created using this same Stamp Set. I loved it so much that I made my own. The set is called Piece of Cake (February Stamp of the Month). I also used Creative Basics Emporium Collection X5806, Liquid Glass Z679, Liquid Appliqué Z308, Prisma Glitter Z134, Sparkles, Clear embossing powder, markers and blending pen. I used I just love this stamp set!!! It was so much fun making this card I hope she likes it! Oh, and I really hope she doesn’t see it on my blog before her birthday. YIKES!!!
I even decorated the envelope that I made…pretty cool huh??

Last month I joined a Bunco Group. It has been years since I've played Bunco, but it's like riding a bike, it comes back so naturally! It is such a fun game to play!!! Tonight we played and had a theme "Wear a Wig Bunco". I wanted to share a picture of me and the other ladies. Can you tell which one is me?? LOL!!!

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #1

Today starts the first challenge with Heart 2 Heart. The colors for this challenge are Sweet Leaf, Sunflower and Chocolate. I wasn't too sure about the three of these together at first since Sunflower is not one of my favorite colors...I didn't know if I was really diggin' these together. After I started playing around with my layout and paper I decided that I really liked the color choices. I'm glad that I decided to play along, because it took me out of my comfort zone...I would love to hear your comments! Thanks for looking!!

Well my baby girl is going to the Prom with her boyfriend Nick tonight. I took off early so that I could help her with her makeup and getting dressed. There is just so much that goes into getting girls ready: Hair Appointment at 8:15 am, Nails and Pedicure at 11:00 am, Spray Tan the night before, makeup, dress, jewelry to match, shoes and the list just goes on and on and on…Whew! That really wore me out!! I did get some Awesome pictures of the two of them that I wanted to share…they make such a cute couple!

New Card

Today I had my friend Wendy over to scrap while our husbands played golf. We decided to try our luck at coloring the Just Blooms Paper Flowers with re-inker. Basically all you do is either put water and the desired amount of re-inker in a glass dish or alcohol and re-inker. We used alcohol because it dries much faster. After mixing the two together, drop your flower in and pull it out with tweezers. I then had a piece of aluminum foil with paper towels on top to put them on to dry. At first we thought that there wasn't enough re-inker in the bowl, because when we pulled them out they looked really light. We added more re-inker and dropped them in the bowl again. When we took them out the second time they did appear to look a bit darker. As they dry the color absorbs the color gets darker. On this card I used Tulip re-inker. I thought the color turned out very pretty!! It was Easy Peasy!!

Other items used: Wishes Card Confidence Program (9033), Garden Green Cardstock (1244), Colonial White Cardstock (1388), Creative Basics Veranda Collection (X5809), Bitty Sparkles (Z1263), Metal Brads (Z1217), Liquid Glass (Z679), Prisma Glitter (Z134), Colored Pencils (not CTMH), Fiskars Threading Water border punch and the Smiles Stamp Set (C1397) - I just love this set!! The flowers are so cute. I stamped them on the colonial white cs twice and then cut them out. I used colored pencils on one set and then used foam squares to pop them up. I also stamped a few of the leaves, covered with liquid glass and placed them on the card to give a 3D effect.

New Paper Pieced Layout

Last Saturday at my Free Crop, Laura taught me how to paper piece. I made this layout using the new technique. I just love how cute these little chicks turned out. The left page has the mama chick holding her clothes line full of baby eggs "Hangin with my peeps". The right side shows a baby chick in it's basket. Both chicks and the basket were paper pieced. It wasn't hard at all...well I say it wasn't. he,he I had a tough time trying to figure out how to make the mama's right arm/hand work so that it looked realistic, but hopefully it looks like she is holding on to the clothes line.
I used a discontinued paper pack from Close to my Heart; Key to my heart. I think that our new Caboodle paper would make really cute Easter pages as well. The colors are very similar to these. I stamped the letters, covered them with liquid glass and sprinkled prisma glitter on top. When they were dry, I cut each one out and used foam squares to raise them off the page. I used liquid glass on the eggs as well, but instead of prisma glitter I used some stickles. Various stickers that I picked up at Michaels. Ok, so I just noticed that it has been several weeks since I have posted anything on my blog. I feel so bad!! Please forgive me. I have been working on projects, but keep forgetting to take pics to put on my blog.

Snow in Alabama

I meant to post pictures over the weekend and completely forgot. Snow in Alabama is not something that you hear of very often, especially in Enterprise! We are located in the Southern part of Alabama only 25 miles from the Florida line. Last Friday, February 12th, we got approximately 5 inches of snow at our house. The dogs absolutely loved it! I kept putting them back in the house, but they wanted outside...this is very unusual for them when it is cold. They were like little kids running around and playing in the snow. Here are some pictures that I took that afternoon and night.
This was at 7:20 am when I left for work. As you can see it is just starting to snow and some snow has accumulated on the roofs:

This was taken after I got home from work at about 1:30 pm...Wow look at the snow!!

Saturday Crop

I wanted to share a few pictures from my Crop on Saturday. It was a small group of 4, but we still had loads of fun talking and working on our projects. Megan was probably the only one that really got a lot done. Both Natasha and Laura worked on some paper piecing projects...really cool!! I didn't think to get a picture of their projects. I did get a couple of layouts done even with all the talking and laughing I was doing.

My Project - I used Abundance Level 2 Paper (discontinued), Autumn Terracotta Ink, New England Ivy Ink, Abundance Stickease, Flourished Blessings My Acrylix Stamps, Autumn Terracotta Buttons and Ribbon, Natural Hemp and Liquid Glass. To get the cracked look in the stamped leaves, I put a thin layer of liquid glass over them and let them sit until almost dry and then I carefully bent each one in several places so that it would create a cracked effect.

I made this cute little box the other night. I used Creative Basics Veranda Collection (X5809), Just Blooms Paper Flowers (Z1266), Colonial White Designer Brads (Z1274), 4 Colonial White Brads(Z1218) and a small piece of Colonial White Cardstock (1388). The scalloped edge was made with a Martha Stewart Border Punch. I hope you like it!!

Dry Erase Board~

I was inspired by one of my Uplines, Jennifer Bohnart. I saw the Dry Erase boards that she and another consultant made and I thought, "I can do that". So I went to Michael's and used my 50% off coupon to purchase a 12x18 inch Poster Board brought it home and decorated it up. I used Twitterpated B&T Papers, Stickease, December Stamp of the Month, Paper Flowers, Brads, Sweet Leaf Cardstock, Playful Lower and Upper Case My Acrylix Stamp(discontinued) sets which I got for "dirt cheap" during the CTMH Holiday Heyday Sale last month and a small piece of ribbon. These are super easy to make and are so cute!!! Now I just need to attach my dry erase marker and start writing on the glass.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Christmas is my favorite Holiday!!! We always like to start decorating the weekend after Thanskgiving. I am so lucky to have two teenagers that can help me put up the tree and decorate. We were laughing and having fun, talking about when they were younger and how all the ornaments would always be in one section of the tree and I always had to move them around and of course the Christmas Music was blasting!! :o)

Now my son is taller than I am and my daughter, well she's not taller yet, but she is just about as tall as I am, which isn't a big accomplishment considering that I am only 5'2"...lol!!!! I wanted to share some pictures of us decorating.

...and of course we had to make time to play with our kitty Jasper. :o)

Thanksgiving Weekend...

This year for Thanksgiving I didn't have to cook, WOOHOO!!! I really don't mind cooking for the holiday's, but I must admit that it is so nice when I don't have to. :o) My dad and step-mother came down from Arkansas and spent the weekend with us. We were all invited for Thanksgiving dinner at my brother-in-laws house. I just realized today that I didn't even get a picture of the Turkey...oh well, I did get some good pics and wanted to share them with everyone. I am so Thankful for my Wonderful Family!!!

This was after Blaine's Christmas Concert tonight at the School. I can't believe how tall he has gotten. They grow up so fast!!! He has been in Band for three years...hopefully he will stick with it! I was really amazed at how much better they sounded this year compared to last. Even comparing them from earlier in the year...practice really does make a difference!!

I really don't know what I did, but I really hurt my back today. I went to work this morning and I was feeling fine. After lunch I came back and sat down for a while then I decided to get up... Uggghhh I could barely stand up because my lower back hurt so bad!! It continued throughout the afternoon and was even worse by the time I left tonight. I couldn't stand up straight for the pain! When I got home my husband was so sweet!! He made my dinner and brought me some medicine and an ice pack. For those of you that don't know me that well, I had lower back surgery in 2004...well it is 5 years later and I'm having flashbacks of the pain that I went through prior to surgery...not very good! I am feeling better now, but please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't get worse.

Christmas is Almost Here...

Can you believe that Christmas is almost here? I really can't!! It seems like just yesterday we were going to the beach, but now summer is completely over and we just filled up with Thanksgiving Dinner and now it's time to decorate for Christmas. Where did this year go? I hope to have my house decorated this weekend, but so far I haven't been in the mood to drag out all the boxes upon boxes of decorations. Maybe tomorrow...

A really COOL Technique that I used was on the Posterboard Letters. I covered each with a generous layer of Versamark and then put Clear Embossing Powder on top and heated with an embossing tool. That is how I got them to shine!

12x12 Jingle Layouts & Cards

I used Jingle Level 2Paper kit to make the layouts and cards. Design is from CTMH Imagine how to Book "Up the Tempo". The textured look on the Juniper Cardstock was done by crumbling up the Cardstock and laying it out flat. I then took my Juniper Stamp Pad and rubbed it across the paper...Pretty Cool Huh??

I just need to add pictures and they will be perfect! It only took me one night to complete everything you see here. :o)

Pizza Boxes

I wanted to share my pizza boxes with everyone. Meredith Painter taught me how to cut them and assemble. They are so easy to make. I decorated them with Jingle Paper, October Stamp of the Month "Holiday Warmth", ribbon and prisma glitter. They turned out so cute!!! Inside is a special gift for my prizes giveaways this weekend.
